Privacy policy

1. Who is responsible

The data controller is aveneo Dawid Morzyński of Poznań, Poland, NIP 7792268011, ul. Dmowskiego 124, 60-124 Poznań, e-mail contact@ariadnevoice.com — hereafter “aveneo”.

This document covers Ariadne Voice for Mac. Ariadne Sense for iPhone has its own policy, because it works differently and collects different things.

2. The main point: we run no server

Ariadne Voice has no account, no sign-in and no connection to any server of ours. We collect nothing about you, because we have nowhere to collect it.

That does not mean nothing leaves your computer. It means everything that leaves it goes directly to the provider you chose, to your own account and on your terms with them. Below we describe exactly what, when and where.

3. Audio and the wake word

Until the wake word is spoken, no audio leaves your computer. Listening is handled by speech recognition built into macOS, running locally. Nothing is sent and nothing is stored — including when a conversation is going on nearby.

After the wake word, conversation audio is sent to OpenAI, which turns it into text and answers aloud. The conversation ends on your command, on pressing Escape, or after a period of silence.

Wake word listening can be switched off entirely in the app's settings. The keyboard shortcut then becomes the only way in, and the microphone is not open at all.

4. Tasks, and what goes out with them

When you ask for something a conversation alone cannot settle, the request goes to an execution agent — to Anthropic or to OpenAI, depending on your setting.

This has to be said plainly, or the risk cannot be judged: what the task is about goes out with the task. Asking to read a message sends that message's text. Asking who is at the door sends the camera image. Asking about your calendar sends calendar events.

This data is subject to the terms and privacy policies of Anthropic or OpenAI. We are not a party to that processing and have no visibility into it.

5. Keys and passwords

Keys for AI providers are stored in the macOS keychain — the same place and the same protection as your other passwords. We never send them anywhere except the provider they belong to.

6. What stays on disk

The app keeps an activity log in ~/Library/Logs/AriadneVoice. It records the course of tasks and exists only for troubleshooting. It is never sent anywhere and you can delete it at any time.

The app also records what it learned from past tasks — a knowledge base about this machine — so it does not repeat routes that already failed. It lives in ~/.config/ariadne-voice and likewise never leaves the computer.

Settings and plugin choices are stored there too, as plain files you can inspect and edit.

7. Plugins

Plugins you install are someone else's code, running on your computer with your permissions. We are not responsible for what it does with the data it can reach.

That is why disabling a plugin means its process is never created at all — not that it runs and is hidden from the model. Every plugin can also be removed along with its files.

8. Updates

The app checks for new releases at update.ariadnevoice.com. Only the version number you already have is sent — no device identifier and nothing that could identify you. We keep no installation statistics.

Every release is signed with a key the app verifies before installing. This protects against an update being swapped in transit.

9. This website

The site uses no tracking cookies and embeds no advertising tools. If you write through the contact form, we receive the email address you gave and your message — solely in order to reply.

10. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port your data, to object, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

11. Changes

We will announce material changes to this policy in the app, under “About”, and not only on this site — because that is where it reaches the person it concerns.
